Here are some exercises to improve the past simple of irregular verbs.

Past Simple
Affirmative | Negative | Interrogative | Traducción |
I was | I was not / I wasn’t | Was I...? | Yo era / Yo estaba |
You were | You were not / You weren’t | Were you...? | Tú eras / Tú estabas |
He/She/It was | He/She/It was not / wasn’t | Was he/she/it...? | Él/Ella era / Él/Ella estaba |
We were | We were not / We weren’t | Were we...? | Nosotros éramos / estábamos |

Los verbos regulares forman el pasado añadiendo -ed al final del verbo base.
Examples:
play → played
visit → visited
like → liked
Spelling Rules:
Si el verbo termina en e, solo añadimos -d.
Example: like → liked
Si el verbo termina en una consonante + y, cambiamos la y por i y añadimos -ed.
Example: study → studied
Para la mayoría de los verbos, solo añadimos -ed.
Example: listen → listened
Negative Sentences:
Usamos el auxiliar did not (didn’t) seguido del verbo base (sin -ed).
Example:
Affirmative: She played soccer.
Negative: She did not play soccer.
Interrogative Sentences:
Usamos el auxiliar did al principio de la oración, seguido del sujeto y el verbo base (sin -ed).
Example:
Affirmative: She played soccer.
Interrogative: Did she play soccer?
